Pennies collected by customers of the Rob Roy Bar in Govan Road amounted to £47. Bill Tennent, of Scottish Television is seen in the picture helping Mrs McGaw, lounge manageress (second from the left), and members of the staff to put the pennies into sacks. On the same evening 34 old folk were treated to free drinks and sandwiches. Music was provided by Harry McGaw and the Merry Macs. The band and the staff gave their services free. 1970.
